Dear Friends,

It is truly an honor for me to be the President of CDMA, one of the best Indian Associations serving the Capital District of New York State, for the year 2011-2012.
 
I would like to thank all previous Presidents and Executive Committee members for their dedication towards CDMA and for taking the association to new heights. I thank them for inspiring the entire Malayalee community in the Capital Region.

I am delighted to see that our community members come together to help and support families experiencing hardship. There are members of our community spending their time and resources to teach Malayalam to our younger generation.  Many members of our community are getting together for sports and recreational activities. I applaud their selfless acts of service. All of this influences our community, especially the younger generation.

The CDMA Executive Committee welcomes member’s innovative ideas, opinions, expertise, and knowledge to improve CDMA’s activities.  We would like to have all of our children participate in Mayuram, the kids’ forum of our association. It is our goal to have the Mayuram participants come together and connect to each other and share and learn Malayalam, our ethnic culture, our traditions, and, most importantly, to have fun.

The CDMA Executive Committee would like to have all of our community members actively participate in our upcoming events. We are exploring the possibility of introducing events such as:

    "Kerala Fest" - for our community members to present their arts skills for review and recognition
    A Spelling Bee competition for our younger generation
    Volleyball competition between teams from other Indian Communities

We will be able to make all these goals possible only with active participation and support. Any organization is as strong as its member base.  I invite you to join with us. Together we can make a difference--through passion, professionalism, and friendship--to have a warm and fun-filled CDMA year 2011-2012.

I would like to sincerely wish all of you a very happy, healthy, and prosperous future ahead. May all of your hopes and dreams come true and may the future bring tremendous joy to your lives.
